Saskatoon Public Schools is the largest school division in Saskatchewan. We operate 43 elementary schools, 10 secondary schools, and two associate schools. We serve approximately 20,000 students and employ over 2,400 professional and support staff. We are open to all children and youth so they may discover, develop and act upon their potential, thereby enriching their lives and our community. We envision a learning community that is caring, committed to celebrating diversity, and respected for its focus on learning. We believe that learning has the power to build confidence and inspire hope. Our School Board has identified two priority areas to receive greater focus for the School Division. These strategies are Literacy for Life and Collegiate Renewal.
This year, we will be forming Collaborative Inquiry Teams (CIT) to support our educators’ instructional and assessment understandings within Literacy for Life. Collaborative Inquiry Teams are school-based groups of educators who learn together for the purpose of improving student learning. Collaborative inquiry is a powerful way to help deepen understandings about instructional practice and student learning through the effective use of data.
The collaborative inquiry follows this professional inquiry cycle.
