I am very excited to be part of this cohort. I am a nerd. I have been working with technology since the early 90s, and have been a classroom teacher for half that time.
I am interested in media (old and new), design, fonts, photography, travel, languages and collaboration.
I teach grades 8 - 12 but this semester I am mostly teaching grade 8s. I have fantastic classes. At the moment my classroom contains experiments about osmosis, transpiration and photosynthesis, a salamander named Bob, some very old computers that I have provided, new media devices of all kinds that my students have provided; and the VERY NEWEST COOLEST SMARTBOARD EVER PRODUCED (the 73rd off the production line.)
I am the team leader for the CTS (Career and Technology Studies) program which includes all of the fun, cool, important non-core courses (like shop, drama, computers and art.) Finally, I am the Technology Integration Lead for our school which means I support a large, dynamic group of teachers who are open to trying new technology and new assessment practices.
