Hello everyone. My name is Mark Carbone. I am thrilled to be part of this PLP experience and look forward to learning with you.

I am currently celebrating my 30th year in K12 education. My career experiences include: secondary school teacher, department head, ICT consultant, and IT management. I currently serve as the Chief Information Officer for the Waterloo Region District School Board, with responsibilies for administrative computing, instructional technologies, library programs and services, and Freedom of Information, Records Management and Privacy. I am the current chair of the OASBO IT Managers provincial group and a member of the OSAPAC software selection advisory committee for the Ministry of Education (ON).

I have been blessed with a wonderful family. My wife, Deborah, and I just celebrated our 32nd year of marriage. We have two daughters: Stephanie (18) and Charlotte (14). In my spare time, you will most likely find me enjoying some time playing my clarinet in the Venturi Winds (woodwind quintet) or in a community orchestra. I am fascinated with technology in music, and love to arrange/compose music.

Have a wonderful PLP experience.

~ Mark
