We want to be able to share and post your Action Research Projects on the PLP website so that others may learn from you. We want to brag on you! We will be making web pages from these projects, so to make the projects a little more uniform and easier to flip through we are asking that you fill out this form. Don't worry - it's not nearly as daunting as it looks. This is meant to be a snapshot of your project with artifacts and links should a reader wish to dig deeper into your research.
For your convenience we have copied and pasted this information into your school's team page. Please delete the directions that are *in asterisks* once you are finished.

Abstract
Our team's project has focused on the levels of student engagement with their own learning, and the teaching and learning strategies that can be used to increase engagement and increase student learning.
Problem, Issue, or Possibility
How do we improve student engagement through teaching and learning strategies?
How engaged are our students
Objectives and Assessment
Our action research continues as a longer period of time is needed to show growth. We used this information as a baseline from which to inform teacher planning and instruction in regards to learning activities.
Implementation Plan
* baseline data collection: student engagement survey based on Metiri's level of student engagement, classroom observation using Galileo's Rubric (modified), and student focus group interviews to determine where students in each of the 3 classrooms currently are "at" in regards to enagement in their learning and learning activities.
Evaluation and Results
We have learned the various levels of engagement, how they differ and what engagement looks like through observations, student focus group interviews and student engagement surveys. This information was collected from the three classrooms that were included by members of our group and this information will be used to guide teacher planning, strategies and learning activities. The ongoing goal will be to focus on feedback given to increase student learning and engagement.
