Here is some information about our team.
Robert Tymofichuk - I work half time with St. Paul Education Regional Division #1 (SPERD) and half time with The Learning Network. With SPERD, most of my day to day work involves job embedded PD. I go from school to school and work with teachers in a technology coaching role. Sometimes the teachers are on prep but most of the time they are teaching. I observe and learn about the curriculum they are teaching, their teaching style and how technology is integrated into their teaching. I help teachers make connections between what they are teaching and the various tools available. In my other role with the consortia, I help support PD events where technology is used (VC, webinars, Bridgit...) I am also a presenter for my consortia, mainly on SMART Notebook and video conference technologies. I am also involved in larger projects, both locally and provincially, where I serve as a technology coach.
Harry Wagner -- I work with the Edmonton Regional Learning Consortium (ERLC) as an Implementation Support Coordinator. Much of my time is spent working with districts and organizations in the region programming for implementaion of the new Alberta mathematics curriculum. I also provide implementation support for social studies, senior science, CTS and other initiatives.
Debbie Ziegler - I work with the Calgary Regional Consortium as Math Consultant/Coordinator. I do what Harry does except better.
Wanda Dechant - I work 0.5 with Northwest Regional Learning consortium (NRLC) and 0.1 with ERLC, 0.2 teaching Math 8, Math10-3, Chem 20 & 30 with an online school in Northern Alberta and 0.2 working with a team on the new Math 20-1 Distributed Learning course (that should add up to 1.0!). I enjoy the diversity of meeting with Jr. high students online in the morning, and then working with PD presenters in the afternoons. The Distributed nature of my responsibilities (along with the support of fantastic colleagues and bosses) allows me to live in California while still continuing my work in Alberta.
Dan Nash - I am a Program Coordinator for the Learning Network PD Consortium delivering professional learning opportunities to teachers in north-east Alberta. After a 35 year career in teaching, school administration, and District curriculum (AISI) leadership I joined the Learning Network as the Social Studies Implementation coordinator in 2005. It soon became clear that effedctive implementation of the new social studeis curriculum would be greatly enhanced through the integration of technology. Moving over to spending more time with tech ingegration seemed a natrual segue. I am currently assigned .5 to the Distributed Learning portfolio which I share with my colleague Robert Tymofichuk. It's a great team! We spend our time enhancing good teaching and learning pedagogy. We support our efforts primarily through a hybrid model of face-to-face and webinars and Video conferencing of subject based sessions.
Patrick Bohnet - I am the Curriculum Implementation Support Consultant (formally Ed Tech Consultant) specializing in Technology for the Central Alberta Regional Consortium. I have 24 years of experience as a Teacher, School Administrator, and Counsellor. I hold a BEd, MEd Admin, and MEd Tech (over educated). I have a very strong and varied background in technology, both pedagogical and IT. I currently am the ARPDC Manager of our Elluminate License and also have strenghs in Moodle, SMART products, VC, TPaCK, and many Web 2.0 Applications. I provide both workshops in many education technology areas, as well as create and provide the technical support for any of our workshops and conferences. I am a strong believer of PLP, PLN and CoP's and a strong advocate of collaboraation using technology! Our Team has had the opportunity to share and grow together and this provides another opportunity in this process!
